International awards: Giovanni Dosi, professor of economics at the Sant'Anna School, elected member of the "Academia Europaea'". Among its members 72 Nobel awards, to promote collective learning, education and research

A new international award for Giovanni Dosi, professor of economics of the Sant’Anna School, who has been elected member of  "Academia Europaea", a European, non-governmental association acting as an Academy, whose members are scientists and scholars who collectively aim to promote learning, education and research.

The Academia Europaea was established in 1988 and its object is the advancement and propagation of excellence in scholarship in the humanities, law, the economic, social and political sciences, mathematics, medicine, all branches of natural and technological sciences anywhere in the world for the public benefit and for the advancement of the education of the public of all ages. The aim of the Academy is to promote European research, advise governments and international organisations in scientific matters, and further interdisciplinary and international research.

Membership is by invitation. Invitations are made only after peer group nomination, scrutiny and confirmation as to the scholarship and eminence of the individual in their chosen field. Members are drawn from across the whole European continent and include European scholars who are resident in other regions of the world. Current membership stands at around 4,500. Amongst them are seventy-two Nobel Laureates, several of whom were elected to the Academia before they received the prize.
